The City of Dallas is going purple all October to bring awareness to Domestic Violence and shine a light on the importance of prevention, education and support to end domestic violence.
Dallas Goes Purple is an awareness initiative that encourages individuals, organizations, businesses, faith communities, schools, and local leaders to stand together in support of domestic violence survivors and prevention efforts.
Throughout the month of October, Dallas residents and organizations are encouraged to wear purple, display purple lights or ribbons, share educational resources, and engage in conversations about healthy relationships, safety, and prevention.
Together, the City of Dallas can raise awareness, support survivors, promote healthy relationships, and work toward a future that is free from domestic violence.
Those experiencing domestic violence, or those concerned about someone they know, are encouraged to seek help from qualified local and national resources. In an immediate emergency, please call or text 9-1-1. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is also available 24/7 at 800-799-SAFE (7233), by texting START to 88788, or through its online resources.
