Yesterday, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Secretary Bessent underscored President Trump’s efforts for a lasting peace for Ukraine, and highlighted the United States’ support for Ukraine’s new IMF program and for the progress that Ukraine has made on its reforms. The Secretary and Prime Minister also discussed Ukraine’s financial and energy situation and the conflict with Iran.
Secretary Bessent also commended Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on the momentum behind the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, including the milestone approval in March of the URIF’s first investment.
