TAMPA, FL (July 19, 2025) – The Tampa Police Department is actively investigating two separate traffic incidents that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 19, 2025.
At approximately 12:40 am, Tampa Police Officers responded to a serious traffic crash at the intersection of E. 7th Ave. and Angel Oliva Senior St.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2022 Can Am Ryker, a three-wheel vehicle, was traveling eastbound on 7th Ave., approaching Angel Oliva Senior St., when it struck two pedestrians, an adult male and adult female, both in their late 30s. The pedestrians were in the roadway, adjacent to a marked crosswalk.
Following the initial impact, the vehicle continued eastbound, striking a parked vehicle before colliding with another vehicle that was stopped for traffic.
The driver, a female in her early-40s, sustained serious injuries. The passenger, a female in her mid-20s, and both pedestrians sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. All injured parties were transported to the hospital for treatment.
While still early in the investigation, detectives found no indicators of impairment at the scene. It is possible the driver experienced a medical episode prior to the crash.
Just after 5:00 AM this morning, Tampa Police responded to a second traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store located at N. 50th St. and E. Columbus Dr.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggests the pedestrian was in the parking lot and either laid down or collapsed near the rear wheels of a parked box truck. The driver of the truck, unaware of the individual’s presence, struck the pedestrian as he was moving the truck.
The driver of the box truck is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation and showed no signs of impairment.
The Tampa Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and is hopeful for a swift recovery for the injured.
These investigations remain active. Additional updates can be provided as they become available.
