Tampa Police Probe Early Morning Busch Blvd Fatality

Tampa Police

TAMPA, FL. (DECEMBER 23, 2025) – – The Tampa Police Department is investigating a tragic traffic fatality that claimed the life of a 34-year-old man early Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:44 am in the 4900 block of E. Busch Blvd. Preliminary evidence and witness statements indicate that a 2013 Chevrolet Impala was exiting the Azula North apartment complex. The driver of the Impala, a 27-year-old woman, attempted to turn onto westbound Busch Blvd, crossing into the path of an oncoming 2025 Honda motorcycle.

The impact caused the 34-year-old motorcyclist to be ejected. Despite the rider wearing a helmet and the quick response of emergency personnel, he tragically passed away at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

The driver of the Impala was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. While a citation for an improper left turn has been issued, the investigation remains active as detectives work to piece together the full details of this event.

Traffic along Busch Blvd between 50th St and Hyaleah Rd was temporarily closed to allow investigators to process the scene. All lanes have since reopened.

With increased holiday traffic, we remind drivers to be extra vigilant of their surroundings. Slow down in high-traffic corridors and always yield to oncoming vehicles. Please stay alert, stay patient, and stay safe.
