Tampa Police Employee Suspended After Arrest

Tampa Police

Tampa, FL. – On September 18, 2025, Tampa Police arrested 42-year-old Angela Antonic for falsifying official records and accessing a computer in a manner that exceeds authorization.

“The arrest of one of our employees is a betrayal of the public trust we work so hard to uphold,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “The conduct of this individual, which was immediately addressed, is a rare exception and does not reflect the integrity and dedication of the hundreds of outstanding men and women who serve this community with honor every single day.”

An internal investigation found Antonic, employed as a Latent Print Assistant, used her role within the department to create two Tampa Police Department law enforcement credentials for a family member who had turned in his official credentials at the time of his recent resignation. Antonic stated she created the credentials to help the family member obtain a new job. The falsified credentials have since been recovered by the Tampa Police Department. The investigation, which was immediately initiated, has not suggested this was a recurring pattern of behavior for Antonic, who was hired in 2017 and has no previous disciplinary history.

Antonic was charged with Official Misconduct Falsify Records and Access Computer or Electronic Device Without Authority. She was immediately suspended following the arrest, pending the outcome of an internal disciplinary process.
