TAMPA, FL (September 12, 2025) – – The Tampa Police Department is making progress in the investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred on Woodville St. early yesterday morning. Detectives continue gathering evidence and are actively following up on several leads based on tips that have come in from the community.
“Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be the critical part of solving this case,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Thanks to the tips we have received to this point, we have been able to move this investigation forward. We need the community to continue to partner with us so we can hold those responsible accountable and ensure we make Tampa safer for everyone.”
The shooting, which occurred shortly before 1:00 am on September 11, 2025, resulted in the tragic death of 17-year-old Tariq De’Shawn Marshall. Five other men, between the ages of 19 and 22, were injured as a result of the shooting. Detectives believe this incident stemmed from a prior dispute and was not a random act.
In addition to the reward offered by Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay, increased reward monies of up to $4,500 are available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Florida Office of Attorney General. The enhanced reward monies are available through June 30, 2026. The tip must come through the Crime Stoppers program and lead to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect(s) in order to be eligible for the enhanced reward.
Additionally, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is contributing up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible in this case.
Combined, the reward has Increased to up to $15,000 for information leading to suspect(s) involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information, even if it seems insignificant, is urged to share what they know with investigators. Detectives will review any and all information to determine if it could aid in their investigation.
