In the early hours of August 23, at about 12:10 a.m., Dallas Police Officers in the Deep Ellum area sprang into action after a robbery was reported in the 2600 block of Elm Street.
Officers quickly spotted the suspects and gave loud commands to stop-two complied immediately, but one took off running. Pursued by officers on foot and on horseback, the third was quickly taken into custody.
All three were carrying firearms – one of which was stolen. Thanks to officers’ quick response and teamwork, they recovered the stolen property valued at approximately $40,000.
The three suspects arrested are:
· 18-year-old Amari Lloyd, charged with Aggravated Robbery, a First Degree-Felony; Evading Arrest Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor; and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.
· 17-year-old Cameron Watkins, charged with Aggravated Robbery, a First Degree-Felony; and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.
· 17-year-old Zaccari Allen, charged with Aggravated Robbery, a First Degree-Felony; and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.
“Swift action, both on foot and in the saddle, is how we protect our community and bring justice to those who threaten it,” said Deputy Chief Devon Palk, Commander of the Central Patrol Group.
