Suspects Charged in Fatal March Shooting on Calhoun Rd

Houston police have arrested two suspects charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 7440 block of Calhoun Road about 6:35 p.m. on March 21.

The suspects are Christian Washington, 29, and Jacobi Burrell, 21. Washington is charged with murder in the 185th Criminal District Court and Burrell is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in the 230th Criminal District Court. Booking photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Isaiah Holiday, 25.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Amri and H. Montealegre-Cerrato reported:

Officers were patrolling the area when they heard multiple gunshots. They responded to the above address where they found a male victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid until paramedics arrived. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Holiday, deceased.

Further investigation identified a male as a person of interest and a surveillance photo of the person of interest was released to the public on March 26.

During the investigation, detectives developed Christian Washington and Jacobi Burrell as suspects in this case. On June 27, Burrell was arrested and charged for his role in this incident. On July 15, Washington was also arrested and charged. Both suspects were booked into the Harris County Jail.
