Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man in the 8900 block of Sweetwater Lane about 1:55 a.m. on April 15.
The suspect, David Michael Villarreal, 31, is charged with murder and unlawful carry of a weapon with a felony conviction in the 262nd State District Court. A booking photo of Villarreal is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Jose Segoiva Arvizu, 34.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and M. Burrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a male suffering from at least one gunshot wound outside a vehicle. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital where, on April 19, he was later pronounced deceased.
Further investigation identified Villarreal as this suspect in this incident. Officers arrested him on Monday (April 28) and he was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
Villarreal is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court for a related incident at 415 W. Mierianne Street about 4:25 a.m. on April 14. He is accused of discharging a firearm. No one was struck.
