Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 8222 Kingsbrook Road about 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday (May 6).
The suspect, Richie Harnamji, 64, is charged with murder in the 248 State District Court. A booking photo of Harnamji is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 54, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Gardner and Detective M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at an apartment complex at the above address and found the male unresponsive in a bed. He had suffered multiple stab wounds. Houston Fire Department pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Officers identified Harnamji, who had called 911, as the suspect and detained him at the scene. Investigators interviewed the suspect, then consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and he was subsequently arrested and charged.
