Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a woman that occurred at 12200 Fleming Drive about 9:45 p.m. on October 22, 2023.
The suspect, William H. Jackson, 20, is charged with capital murder in the 174th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Jackson is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Hope Renee Saenz, 26.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Casso and M. Brady reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting/home invasion call at the apartment complex at the above address and found the female unresponsive inside her apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.
A witness stated two unknown black male suspects entered the apartment and began shooting at the people inside the apartment and Ms. Saenz was struck. There were also two children inside the apartment at the time of the shooting who were not injured.
Further investigation determined the shooting was the result of a robbery and Jackson was identified as a suspect in this case. On Tuesday (November 18), Jackson was arrested and charged for his role in the case.
