Suspect Arrested, Charged in Richmond Ave. Shooting

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 15155 Richmond Avenue about 7:30 p.m. on Monday (August 18).

The juvenile male suspect, 16, was referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities on a murder charge. Names and booking photos of juvenile suspects are not releasable.

The identity of the deceased male, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Vaughn and C. Davidson reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male inside an apartment. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned there was an altercation between the victim and the suspect. The juvenile suspect shot the victim multiple times and fled the scene on foot.

The juvenile suspect returned to the scene and was detained by officers. Detectives consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the suspect was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
