On December 6, 2025, officers were assisting an operation with the Street Racing Task Force when an officer, who was working in an undercover capacity, observed a gold 2007 GMC Yukon travelling at a high rate of speed near 11300 Garland Road. The undercover officer alerted uniformed officers who located the vehicle.
Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 11300 block of McCree Road. Officers identified the driver and the passenger. A subject check of the passenger, Jesus Jonathon Garza revealed that he had an active warrant for a parole violation – burglary of a habituation. During a search of the passenger, he was found to be in possession of cocaine. Additionally, a check of the license plate revealed that the registration for the vehicle was expired.
The driver of the vehicle was unable to provide officers with valid car insurance therefore his vehicle was towed. During an inventory of the vehicle, officers located a clear plastic baggie with what appeared to be methamphetamines. Officers also found two large clear bags with a white powdery substance inside of a brown Crown Royal liquor bag hidden within the center console assembly. Two small red baggies with a white powdery substance were also found in the vehicle.
Money was found in varying increments, which is common with the sale of narcotics. After testing and weighing the drugs, officers found a total of 445.8 gram of cocaine and 47.7 grams of methamphetamines.
The driver, Moises Perez Jr, was placed under arrest and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. The passenger was arrested for his outstanding warrant. The arrest is documented on case #174772-2025.
“This arrest reflects the dedication our officers show every day as they work to remove dangerous drugs from our streets and protect our community,” said Major Gabriel Candelaria.
