Southeast Patrol Cracks Down on Open-Air Drug Sales

The Southeast Patrol Division’s CRT / Deployment Unit arrested two people suspected of making hand-to-hand narcotics transactions and seized more than 1,000 grams of illegal drugs in the Park Row area.

Following ongoing investigations and community reports of open-air drugs sales and prostitution in the Park Row neighborhood, on August 28, 2025, officers observed 41-year-old Brandon Thompson conducting drug sales from his vehicle. Officers stopped Mr. Thompson, and the resulting investigation recovered 45.4 grams of hydrocodone; 3/3 grams of amphetamine dextroamphetamine; 24.3 grams of alprazolam; 47.5 grams of carisoprodol; 10.7 grams of tramadol hydrochloride; .1 grams of Adderall; 3.6 grams of diazepam; 7.3 grams of amoxicillin trihydrate; 510 grams of promethazine; 49 grams of marijuana; and $3.226.97 in currency. Mr. Thomas was charged:

  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 between four and 200 grams for the hydrocodone, a first-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2/2A between one and four grams for the amphetamine, a second-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone for the alprazolam, a third-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 between 28 and 200 grams for the carisoprodol, a second-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone for the tramadol, a third-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2/2A less than one gram in a Drug Free Zone for the Adderall, a third-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone for the diazepam, a third-degree felony
  • Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces in a Drug Free Zone, a class A misdemeanor
  • Possession of a Dangerous Drug for the amoxicillin, a class A misdemeanor.

The next day, officers observed another suspect making hand-to-hand drug sales in the 2800 block of Meadow Street on August 29, 2025. Officers followed the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Yellarrious Thomas Crow, from the sale location, stopped him, and discovered multiple illegal narcotics in his possession, as well as $3,594 in currency. The seized drugs included 7 grams of cocaine; 34.2 grams of tramadol; 4.6 grams of alprazolam; 17.8 grams of carisoprodol; 43.1 grams of hydrocodone; and 3.5 grams of marijuana.

Mr. Thomas Crow was arrested and charged with:

  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 for the cocaine, a first-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 between one and 200 grams for the hydrocodone, a first-degree felony
  • Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 less than 28 grams for the tramadol, a second-degree felony
  • Two counts of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a Drug Free Zone for the alprazolam and carisoprodol, third-degree felonies.

Major Yancey Nelson, commander of the Southeast Patrol Division, said, “These arrests are the result of ongoing investigations and enforcement of drug laws in the Park Row neighborhood. Our officers are in the area, visibly and covertly, working with intelligence gained through investigations and following up on concerns reported by the community.
