Southeast Crime Response Team Arrest Aggravated Assault Suspects

On October 3, 2025, at about 8:00 a.m., Dallas Police Southeast Crime Response Team was surveilling suspects and a suspect vehicle in the 1300 block of Murdock Road. The suspects were associated with a shooting that occurred in the 5800 block of Pineland Drive.

The Crime Response Team saw the suspect vehicle leave the location. With the help of Southeast Patrol uniformed officers, the Crime Response Team conducted a traffic stop and quickly took 22-year-old Jonathan Lopez-Juarez and 21-year-old Melody Espinoza into custody.

Lopez-Juarez and Espinoza were both transported to Jack Evans Police Headquarters where they admitted, in separate interviews, to their involvement in the shooting in the 5800 block of Pineland Drive.

The Assault Unit obtained a search warrant for the suspects residence. The following items were seized:

Three 9mm Pistols

60.1 grams of THC Wax

8.1 grams of Psilocybin

10.7 grams of Marijuana

16.6 grams of Shrooms

Lopez-Juarez and Espinoza are both charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
