The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a second suspect in a shooting that occurred in Northwest.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Third District officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Euclid Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting but no victim.
During the canvass for the suspects, officers located and arrested one of the suspects in the immediate area. Two firearms were recovered. The investigation determined that the suspect was involved in an exchange of gunfire with other unknown suspects that resulted in property damage.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 19-year-old Damari Bryant, of Northeast, D.C., was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Felony Destruction of Property, Felony Receiving Stolen Property, Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm and Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Third District officers familiar with the investigation located an additional suspect in the area where the shooting had occurred. The suspect was arrested without incident. A firearm was recovered.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 19-year-old Emmanuel Gerald Grey, of Southeast, D.C., was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). Grey was additionally charged with Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm and Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.
This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police
