On Monday, January 12, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Roland Lescure of France to discuss G7 and G20 coordination, their mutual economic policy priorities, and the critical minerals finance ministerial.
Secretary Bessent underscored the value of coordinating across our G20 and G7 presidencies’ priorities in 2026, including addressing global imbalances in both forums, and highlighted next steps to follow through on the critical minerals finance ministerial.
