Houston police have released surveillance video and composite sketches of a suspect wanted for the shooting of a man at 10890 Sabo Road about 12:20 p.m. on July 17.
The suspect is described as a young black male wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and shorts. Two composite sketches and surveillance video are attached to this news release.
One male, 43, was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound. A second male, a Harris County Precinct 2 Deputy Constable, was shot at several times but was not injured.
HPD Robbery Division Detectives J. Pineda and Officer C. Lee reported:
The victim was at a car wash at the above address when he was approached by the suspect who pointed a pistol at the victim and demanded money. The complainant reached for his vehicle’s door, to get his wallet, at which time the suspect shot him once in the stomach. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
A nearby Harris County Precinct 2 Deputy Constable heard the gunshots and got into his vehicle and drove across the street to the location where he observed the suspect fleeing on foot. The deputy, in uniform and driving a vehicle with emergency lights activated, followed the suspect. While the suspect fled he turned and shot at the deputy’s vehicle, striking it more than once. The suspect then fled into an apartment complex where the deputy lost sight of him.
