MPD Updates Glover Park Homicide Investigation

DC Metropolitan Police

The Metropolitan Police Department is providing an update on the investigation into a homicide that occurred Wednesday in the Glover Park neighborhood.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at approximately 4:39 p.m., Second District officers responded to the report of a shooting in front of an apartment complex in the 4100 block of W Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female and a 10-year-old juvenile female suffering from gunshot wounds. A second child, a juvenile male, was located on scene uninjured. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after all lifesaving measures failed, the woman was pronounced dead. The injured juvenile female was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The deceased victim has been identified as 34-year-old Rayven Amuan Edwards of Northwest.

MPD detectives quickly determined that the suspect, 35-year-old Stephon Marquis Jeter of Northwest, fled the scene in a black pickup truck with a 3-year-old male child. The suspect and the decedent are the parents of the 3-year-old child. MPD distributed images of Jeter and his vehicle to the public.

Around 6:30 p.m., members of the Prince George’s County Police Department located the suspect vehicle in Maryland and initiated a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit entered DC, and MPD members joined the pursuit. The suspect vehicle crashed at 30th Street and Nash Place, Southeast, and officers located Jeter inside of the vehicle suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Jeter was pronounced dead and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where his cause and manner of death will be determined.

An AMBER Alert was issued for the 3-year-old child who remained missing. A short time later, the child was located unharmed at the residence of a family member in Prince George’s County, and the AMBER alert was canceled.

The Metropolitan Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to our partners at Prince George’s County Police Department for their assistance throughout this investigation.
