MPD Probes Langston Place Homicide

Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in Southeast.

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at approximately 12:48 a.m., members of the Seventh District responded to the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival an adult male victim was located unconscious and not breathing suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, and despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim has been identified as 35-years-old John Allen Williams III, of Southeast, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
