Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Southeast.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to a traffic crash in the 3300 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast. Upon arrival, officers located two injured occupants in a 2003 Toyota Camry and an injured passenger in a 2012 Toyota Prius. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported all three occupants to local hospitals for treatment. After all lifesaving measures failed, the driver of the Toyota Camry, an adult male, was pronounced dead. The two additional occupants are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation determined that the Camry was traveling southbound in the 3300 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, when it crossed over into the opposite lane of travel and struck the Prius. The vehicles collided in a head-on collision.
The decedent has been identified as 34-year-old Bobby Price, of Southeast, DC.
