The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Northwest.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at approximately 4:25 a.m., Third District officers responded to the report of gunshots in the 2600 block of 15th Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded and after finding no signs consistent with life, the man was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 23-year-old Xavier Fogle, of Northwest, DC.
Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police
