The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in connection to a robbery that occurred in Northwest.
On Monday, September 1, 2025, at approximately 11:35 p.m., First District officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 600 block of H Street, Northwest. The suspect physically assaulted the victim, stole property, then fled the scene.
While canvassing the area, officers observed an individual matching the description provided in the lookout. The suspect was stopped and placed under arrest.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 41-year-old Russell Johnson of Southwest, D.C., was charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
