The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest.
On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately 6:56 p.m., Third District officers responded to the 1200 block of 12th Street, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, unconscious and not breathing, suffering gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital and after finding no signs consistent with life the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 33-year-old Tymark Wells, of Northwest, DC.
This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police
