MPD Hunts Suspect in 12th Street Robbery, Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a nonfatal shooting and robbery that occurred in Northwest.

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, at approximately 4:34 a.m., Third District officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1600 block of 12th Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation determined that the suspect offered the victim transportation. The victim accompanied the suspect to a vehicle, where the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s property. After taking the victim’s belongings, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.

Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police
