MPD Arrests Suspect in Northeast Assault

The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest of a suspect involved in an assault that occurred in Northeast.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Fifth District offices responded to the 1900 block of Bennett Place, Northeast, for the sound of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located the victims who stated, the suspect discharged a firearm at them after a dispute. After shooting at the victims, the suspect fled the area. No injuries were reported during this incident.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested, 24-year-old Nebiy Boreshe, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
