MPD Arrests Another Suspect in Northeast Burglary

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announces an additional arrest in a burglary that occurred in Northeast.

On March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:21 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to the report of a burglary in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. The suspects entered the victim’s apartment when it was unoccupied and took property, including a Shih Tzu puppy, from inside.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old Dijon Fendell, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Burglary Two.

On Thursday, March 19. 2026, 26-year-old Yvonne Young, of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Burglary Two and three arrests were made on Friday, March 6, 2026 .

MPD continues to search for the victim’s Shih Tzu puppy named “Cruz”. Photos of the puppy can be seen below:

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police
