Jefferson County Woman Scores $1M in 500X Scratch-off

Today, the Florida Lottery announces that Brenda Larry, of Monticello, claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on January 23.

Larry chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00. Larry purchased her winning ticket from Pit Stop, located at 1546 N. Jefferson Street in Monticello.

“You have to play to win, and I don’t rely on luck. I move with purpose, and I’m truly blessed,” said Brenda Larry.

The $50 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game features a top prize of $25 million and the best odds to become an instant millionaire! With more than $1.66 billion in cash prizes, this game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.23.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2024-2025.
