Dallas Police
On January 1, 2026, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call on Empire Central near Northbound North Stemmons Freeway. The preliminary investigation determined multiple individuals were shot at the location during an altercation. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported 5 victims to a local hospital. One victim, later identified as 25-year-old Zecqurie Fields, was transported in critical condition and died on January 5, 2026. This ongoing investigation will be documented under case number 000112-2026.
