Dallas Police
On February 13, 2026, at approximately 10:47 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 4600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street. The preliminary investigation determined that two men had been shot at the location. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and determined 21-year-old Jackie Jernigan died at the scene. The second man was transported by private vehicle to the hospital. The motives and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation, which is documented under case number 021025-2026.
