Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 905 Omar Street about 11 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 15).
The identity of the deceased male, 87, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence at the above address. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Further investigation identified a male who had remained at the scene. Officers learned an altercation had occurred between the two men which led to the shooting. The male was detained at the scene but was released pending further investigation.
