20 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased female, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective L. Patterson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and learned a woman suffered at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The male shooter told officers the female arrived at his residence and began banging on the front door. He stated he let her inside and she was acting aggressively and started damaging his property. He said he was involved in a physical altercation with the female and he called 911. While on the phone, he said the female left the residence, walked to the back porch area where she had her personal property, picked up a weapon and returned with the weapon. The male stated he retrieved a weapon and returned to the living room area. He stated the female pointed her weapon at him and he discharged his weapon, striking the female.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
