Fatal Shooting Investigated: 2520 Calumet St

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 2520 Calumet Street about 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday (January 20).

The identity of the deceased male, 41, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. LaFour, C. Duncan and Detectives R. Waterwall and J. Jorsch reported:

Officers responded to a robbery call at the above address and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

After speaking to a witness, detectives learned two armed suspects approached the victim’s vehicle and attempted to rob them. The victim and the passenger complied with the suspects’ demands and exited the vehicle.

The suspects realized the vehicle would not start and approached the victim again for the key. A physical altercation ensued and a suspect fired his weapon, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
