Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian in the 9800 Mesa Drive about 11:05 p.m. on September 5.
The deceased male is identified as Robert Walker, 26.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Gregory and Officer A. Thomas reported:
A gray Mercedes-Benz E-Class was traveling southbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a male who was sitting in the moving lane of traffic. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers learned the deceased male had been inside another vehicle when he was involved in a verbal altercation with another vehicle. Both vehicles came to a stop and the male exited his vehicle and sat down in the roadway.
The Mercedes-Benz was not involved in the initial dispute. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
