Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred in the 6000 block of Woodway Drive about 9:10 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 21).
The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer R. Lozano reported:
The operator of a black Yamaha MTO motorcycle was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed near the above address when he lost control and struck a tree in the median. The impact caused the motorcycle to come to rest in the westbound lanes of Woodway Drive.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene. Further investigation determined no other persons or vehicles were involved.
The investigation is continuing.
