Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 3900 South Loop East (Interstate Highway 610) about 1:10 a.m. today (September 9).
The identity of the deceased male, 39, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer C. Moralez reported:
A white GMC Canyon pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the South Loop near the Scott street exit when the driver failed to maintain a single lane and struck the concrete barrier between the mainlanes and the exit ramp. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
