Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 12700 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 7 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 4).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer R. Ramos reported:
A blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling westbound at the above address when a male pedestrian tried to cross the freeway. The vehicle struck the male. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
