Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash that occurred at 6600 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 12:05 a.m. today has died.
The identities of the male victim, 38, and another deceased male are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer R. Young reported:
A silver BMW was traveling the wrong way, westbound in the eastbound lanes, on the freeway at the above address and struck a silver Tesla Cybertruck head on. The impact caused the BMW to catch fire and the Tesla to strike a blue Freightliner 18-wheeler.
The male driver of the BMW was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The male driver of the Tesla was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors later pronounced him deceased.
The male driver, 66, of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
