Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 15400 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 3:40 a.m. today (Sept. 17).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer A. Thomas reported:
The driver of a black Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on the service road at the above address when the driver struck a pedestrian. The male pedestrian was walking in a moving lane of traffic. The driver pulled over, called 911 and attempted CPR on the male. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
