Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 13700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 5:05 a.m. on Sunday (July 26).
The identity of the deceased male, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer C. Nguyen reported:
A white Chevrolet 1500 was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the service road at the above address. The driver failed to maintain a single lane and struck the guardrail and a light pole before coming to a stop.
Responding Houston Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene
There were no other persons or vehicles involved in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
