Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7300 Clinton Drive about 3:10 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 5).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer L. Fenoglio reported:
Officers responded to a report of a crash at the above address after notification from Galena Park Police Department. A Galena Park police officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the 7700 block of Clinton Drive when he observed a gray Infinity speeding. The Galena Park officer attempted to stop the driver of the Infinity but the Infinity fled at a high rate of speed. The officer lost sight of the suspect vehicle but then came upon the vehicle in the 7300 block of Clinton Drive, crashed. The passenger remained in the vehicle.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene. The suspect driver fled the scene on foot and remains at-large.
The investigation is continuing.
