Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 900 Lockwood Drive about 4:50 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 27).
The identity of the deceased male, 62, and female, 51, are both pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer T. Syed reported:
The driver of a white Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound at the above address when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both the male driver and female passenger deceased at the scene. Further investigation determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
