Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 6700 Airline Drive about 10 p.m. on Monday (May 5).
The identity of the deceased male pedestrian is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer C. Moralez reported:
A black Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound at the above address when a male in a wheelchair was crossing the road from east to west. The Chevrolet struck the pedestrian. The female driver, 51, of the Chevrolet parked in the nearest parking lot and called 911. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased.
The driver did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
