Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 800 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) service road about 4:40 p.m. on September 9.
The identity of the deceased female, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer K. Stanley reported:
The female operator of a red Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound at the above address when she struck a blue Western Star 18-wheeler. The driver of the 18-wheeler was attempting to turn right into a parking lot when the crash occurred.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 57, of the 18-wheeler was not injured and remained at the scene. He did not show signs of impairment and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
