Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 2500 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 11:45 p.m. on Monday (January 12).
The identity of the deceased male, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer R. Young reported:
A black Dodge Ram 3500 was traveling westbound at the above address when the driver suddenly switched lanes and struck a red Toyota Camry. The Toyota was disabled on the main lanes with their hazard lights activated when the accident occurred.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male driver of the Toyota deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 26, of the Dodge remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
