Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 1700 block of South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) service road about 11:05 p.m. on Thursday (December 18).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer R. Guzman reported:
A black Dodge Charger was traveling westbound at the above address when the vehicle failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway and struck a tree . Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
