Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash in the 14200 block of Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 2:45 a.m. on June 16 has died.
The identity of the deceased male, 89, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Johnson reported:
A silver Toyota Sienna was traveling westbound at the above location when one of its tires blew out. The male driver, 59, lost control and could not maintain a single lane. The vehicle crashed into a tree and rolled over.
Paramedics transported the driver and male passenger, 89, to area hospitals. Doctors at Ben Taub Hospital pronounced the passenger deceased today (July 9).
The investigation is ongoing.
