Fatal Crash Investigation: 7300 Fannin Street

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the 7300 block of Fannin Street about 4:40 a.m. today (September 11) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

The identity of the deceased female, 72, is pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants L. Ross and K. Bui and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

A white Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Old Spanish Trail and had a green light. A female pedestrian was walking in the northbound in the crosswalk on Fannin Street while using a walker. The Nissan struck the pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the female to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The female driver of the Nissan, 32, remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the crash would be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
