Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the 10100 block of La Porte Freeway (State Highway 225) about 12 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 21).
The identity of the deceased female, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer D. Thompson reported:
A gray Honda Civic was traveling eastbound near the above address when the driver struck a pedestrian. The female pedestrian was walking in a moving lane of traffic. The driver exited the freeway and called 911. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the female deceased.
Further investigation determined the victim and her husband got into an argument. The husband pulled over and the wife exited the vehicle and began walking on the freeway.
The driver of the Honda did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
