La Crosse, WI – Today, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Wisconsin on her Returning Education to the States Tour . Secretary McMahon began her day by touring Western Technical College La Crosse Campus to see an advanced manufacturing lab, K-12 academic collaboration space, and a workforce development hub.
Secretary McMahon then toured Sparta Public Safety Training Facility, speaking with administrators and students about their law enforcement, fire protection, and paramedic training space.
“Today’s stop on our Returning Education to the States Tour underscored how institutions are strategically cultivating the skilled workforce required to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving economy,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. “At Western Technical College, the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies and K-12 collaboration reflects a deliberate investment in producing graduates who can immediately contribute to regional industry needs. On her Returning Education to the States Tour, Secretary McMahon is traveling to all 50 states to hear directly from teachers, parents, and community leaders about what is working in their communities for their students and compile a toolkit of best practices to distribute to states.
